Eugen Vodopivec Borkovsky was born in Opatija. Studied fine arts in Rijeka. Attended a Theoretical Writing in Fine Arts course at the Institute of Contemporary Art in Ljubljana, Slo.

Free-lance sculptor, heraldic artist, graphic, web and stage designer. Member of the Croatian.

Association of Artists Rijeka, Croatian Association of Artists Istria, Croatian Association of Artists in Fine and Applied Arts, Croatian Association of Free-Lance Artists, and Association of Museum and Gallery Workers of Istria. Since 1989 has lived in inland Istria. Staged more than 60 one-man shows and participated in over 80 group exhibitions.

Organized and participated in many art projects and events, attended numerous symposiums, art colonies and workshops in Croatia and abroad. Designed reliefs and staged displays of the Groznjan Heraldic Collection. Travelled extensively (Austria, Bosnia and Herzegivina, the Czech Rep, France, Germany, Greece (Crete), Hungary, Italy, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Yugoslavia).

Received several awards and acknowledgements. Artwork displayed in many public and private spaces. Since the early 1980s Borkovsky's work resulted in several cycles: Arboureuses, Architecture of Illusion, To the Porous Century, Beings, Labyrinth, Piles of Solitude, Cages, etc.
