Lauba Has Been Nominated For "European Museum Of The Year Award 2014

European Museum of the Year Award's (EMYA) team of judges put up a list of European Museum Forum's nominees between November 17th and 19th in Paris. Among the best from around twenty European countries, this year LAUBA - People and Art House found it's place.

The European Museum of the Year Award (EMYA) was founded in 1977 under the auspices of the Council of Europe, with the aim of recognising excellence in the European museum scene and encouraging innovative processes in a museum world which still took the more traditional view to focus exclusively on collections rather than on their use for the benefit of society. Every year a team of judges is faced with the task of finding and recognizing innovative institutions and practices which are to become influential on national and international scale. Besides award for best European museum, European Museum Forum every year rewards most innovative and daring project with the Kenneth Hudson Award. And museum which excelled in comprising of local community in project planing and development of the institution is awarded with Stiletto Award.

Museo de Madinat al-Zahra in Cordoba (Spain) has been declared yesteryear's winner and the Kenneth Hudson Award went to The Glasnevin Museum in Dublin (Ireland). Third award also went to Spain, to the TOPIC: The International Puppet Museum Center in Tolose. It can not go unmentioned that Croatian Museum of Broken Relationships won the Kenneth Hudson Award in 2011.

The announcement of the winners and the formal Award Ceremony will take place during the Annual Assembly of the European Museum Forum, from May 14 to May 17 2014 in Tallinn (Estonia).
