Mirjana Batinić presents her work in Malta

New media artist Mirjana Batinić will present her artwork on 22 March at MCAST College of Arts, Science and Technology in Valleta, Malta.  She will talk about developing interactive installations and video art, her experiences at the Ljubljana Art Academy, Ljubljana Faculty for Computing and Engineering and Ljudmila Media lab.
Batinić will also partake as a lecturer at the symposium titled Writing Life at the Malta University. The title of her lecture is Life in the Other Place.

Mirjana Batinić is a new media artist working mainly in the medium of interactive installations, sound and video art. She researches subtle and invisible layers, distortion of perception, time, deconstruction, fear, noise aesthetics, the relationship of chaos and harmony, etc.

Participated at many solo and group exhibitions and festivals of video and electronic art all over the world. She presented Croatia two times at Biennial of young artist of Europe and the Mediterranean: 2005 in Naples, Italy and 2008 in Bari, Italy. Her work "Peace, 2006" is a part of collection at Casoria International Contemporary Art Museum in Naples, Italy. Publishes poetry and short stories and is a part of several literary publications. She won 1st prize by "Literary Circle", Karlovac, Croatia, 2004. In the year 2011 she was member of a jury at FreeNetWorld International Film Festival, organized by E-Fortress from Niš, Serbia. She is member of the Croatian Association of Visual Artists - Split, and is part of DIVA - Slovene digital video archive at SCCA Ljubljana.
