Croatian success in European projects

Among nine members of the roof European circus and street art organization network Circostrada’s Advisory board, Ivan Kralj, the president of Mala performerska scena, was elected in the last week meeting held in Glasgow. The newly established Advisory board will have the task of revising membership of existing members as well as deciding on new member applications.
Besides this newest success for the Croatian association, successes are arriving in a second European project co-organized by the association in this year. Unpack the Arts, residential program for European cultural journalists, enlisted four Croatian citizens among the 30 participants in the first cycle of contemporary circus residencies.
Ny Circus festival in Copenhagen, Denmark, in August will be attended by Igor Ružić, freelance critic and regular contributor of T-portal, and Srđan Laterza, associate of and Booksa. One of the leading festivals of contemporary circus in France, Circa in Auch, will see Iva Nerina Sibila, editor-in-chief of the magazine Kretanja and critic at, and Mašenjka Bačić, journalist writing for Slobodna Dalmacija and internet portal
With as many as four participants in the first round of residencies (seven more await us in 2013, and two in 2014) Croatia is currently the leading country in journalist representation tables in this all-European program. In this year’s third residency, the one in Zagreb, as a part of the Festival novog cirkusa, cultural journalists  from Finland, France, Belgium, United Kingdom, Romania, Spain and Germany will also be participating.
Unpack the Arts program is co-financed through the EU Culture Programme, and the Croatian part of the program is co-financed by the Croatian Ministry of Culture.
