Edita Matan presented internationally

Visual and new media artist Edita Matan presented her artworks (drawings and films) on many international art events during spring and summer. Her film ‘Patron’s nightmare’ will be presented in Kobro Gallery, Lodz - Poland from 26th to 29th September.

2nd Art Days in Labin

Perforations Festival in Montpellier

Perforations Festival partakes in the educational programme of Montpellier's Summer Lab between 24th and 27th August. Artists Petra Kovacic (Split), Zeljko Zorica and Viktor Krasic (Zagreb) will present the festival. 

9th Grand Art Workshop

9th Grand Art Workshop at the Kastaf Summer Festival, a one-day competition and exhibition on the streets of Kastav, with visual artists from Croatia and abroad presenting their works and competing for awards in four categories, will take place on 13th August. 

Igor Grubic at London Print Studio

The exhibition ‘Memoirs From A Cold Utopia’, presenting Contemporary Eastern European Artists, is on view at London Print Studio, from 28th of July till 18th November 2011. Among others, exhibition shows works by Croatian artist Igor Grubic.

Museum of Broken Relationships in London

Tristan Bates Theatre will present the Museum of Broken Relationships. This autumn, the West End's most daring venue is transforming itself into the capital's most exciting exhibition space, becoming the hub of what will be a sprawling multi-site experience encompassing the whole of Seven Dials. The Museum will be on display from 15th August to 4th September.

Vlasta Delimar and Slaven Tolj in Poland

Gallery for Contemporary Art - BWA Sokol in the city of Nowy Cacz (Poland) presents the international group exhibition 'Rytmika Cwiczen - Rhythmic Exercises' which opens on 7th July.  Vlasta Delimar and Slaven Tolj will partake the exhibition. The opening ceremony starts with Tolj's performance.

Portfolio by Stanko Abadzic has been published in the Polish magazine  Foto. The editor of the magazine, Pawel Steszak,  presented Abadzic with photographs from his Adriatic m Prague and Pars cycles.

54th Venice Biennale: Tom Gotovac & BADco.

By invitation of the curators' collective What, How & for Whom/WHW the Croatian exhibition at the 54th Venice Biennale taking place 4th June to 27th November is presenting the work of conceptual artist Antonio G. Lauer (a.k.a. Tom Gotovac) and performing arts collective BADco. The exhibition will be staged in the Arsenale.

Olja Stipanovic artist-in-residence at Manhattan Graphics Center

Contemporary visual artist Olja Stipanovic has been selected as artist-in-residence at the Manhattan Graphics Center in New York. As the recipient of the summer art residency from May to August, Olja Stipanovic will have the opportunity to create within the Center’s studio, which includes an association of artists, gallery, and video workshop for the promotion of graphic art techniques.

E-book ‘Art in Critical Confrontation to Society’ launched!

The electronic book made within the framework of  the international project ‘Let’s Talk Critic Arts’  entitled  ‘From Consideration to Commitment: Art in Critical Confrontation to Society (Belgrade, Ljubljana, Skopje, Zagreb: 1990-2010)’ has been launched. The book is free and could be downloaded from Let’s Talk Critic Arts blog.

Kontejner marking 10 years of activity

KONTEJNER | bureau of contemporary art praxis, a non-profit organization from Zagreb that deals with the relationship between science, technology and the body in contemporary society is marking its 10th birthday. New Museum of Contemporary Art opened in Zagreb
