12th Festival of Dance and Non-verbal Theatre San Vincenti

time: 22.07.2011. - 26.07.2011.
place: Savicenta, Croatia
organiser: Festival of Dance and Non-verbal Theatre San Vincenti
In the last 11 years, Dance and Non-Verbal Theatre Festival San Vincenti hosted more than 175 works of Croatian and foreign choreographers, but this year's festival edition is based on multimediality in dance and on object theatre, which definitely represents a change in comparison with the previous editions. The festival takes place from 22nd to 26th of July in Savicenta, Croatia.

The entrance of other media into dance, the combination of movement and video installation and the use of new technologies will be seen in the works of The Original Tempo, a group of musicians, dancers and visual artists from Japan, in their pop-experimental comedy Shut up, Play!!; in mechatronic show entitled Protomembrana by Marcel.li Antunez Roca, who is one of the founders of the famous La Fura dels Baus; and in Quia by Digital Tatoo in which videomapping is made by Dean Bagar, a Croatian video artist who lives in Berlin.

Object theatre is represented in Tras Tos, a witty production by the Spanish group Nats Nus Dansa for the children and the adults; in Springville, the performance directed by Miet Warlop from Belgium, in which the performers are both humans and objects and the main focus of interest is their inter-relationship. MyLaika! who had their residence in San Vincenti will present the piece which was born out of that residence, Popcorn Machine, and the Macedonian dance scene will be presented for the first time by a production entitled A world in-between created by the most prominent Macedonian choreographer Risima Risimkin.

As usual, the audience will have the opportunity to see the works of Croatian artists as well. This year they will be Roberta Milevoj, Ognjen Vučinić and Aleksandra Mišić, Andreja Široki and Iva Korenčić, Saša Božić and Petra Hrašćanec and Zagreb Dance Company. The oeganizer proudly announces the premiere of the production entitled Three Grannies, which was inspired by the life of women in San Vincenti and the video by Šikuti machine, also from San Vincenti.
