Perforations Festival @ Limit – Live Art Festival

time: 25.11.2011. - 27.11.2011.
place: Belgrade, Serbia
organiser: Limit – Live Art Festival
At the first edition of Limit – Live Art Festival that will be held November 25 – 27, the following plays will be performed: Slovenian-Latvian play “Show Your Face”,  the Swiss “1973” by Massimo Furlan Company, “1 poor and one 0” by Badco from Croatia, as well as the performance “First Aid” of the Belgrade Ister Theatre. Also, in cooperation with the Zagreb festival Perforacije, a special program will be held - the spectacular “Night of Performances”. “The World of Silence”, a video installation of two young artists Dane Komljen and Marko Salapura will be shown during the festival.

The thread that connects this year’s selection of plays is most certainly the fact that the festival is being held in a cultural centre that has started a new life after its reconstruction. During the 1990s, Dom omladine Belgrade had completely collapsed, and in a certain way disappeared from the cultural map of Belgrade and Serbia. In this sense, the plays of this year’s Limit will be treating the problem and concepts connected to the identity old/new, not only of our institution, but in a wider social context. Heritage, reconstruction, nostalgia, soul and memories are only some of the topics.

Besides presenting the artists, the aim is to develop the festival into an educational platform that will leave a lasting mark on the younger public; to teach, give inspiration for contemplation, to present a dialogue and thus continue its “life” after the festival has ended. The additional program will thus offer workshops with the most famous theatre artists and theorist from the region.

The festival is supported by the Secretariat of Culture of the City of Belgrade, Pro Helvetia, Alma Quattro, Latvian State Culture Capital Foundation.
