IPEW - The International Percussion Ensemble Week will be held between 19th and 21st January in the City of Bjelovar. It is a unique percussion festival in Croatia, gathering and promoting small percussion ensembles and presenting solo works. The Art Director and initiator of the project is renowned and leading European percussionist Professor Igor Lešnik.

Lešnik's collaborations with famous colleagues, his rich collection of recordings and his international concert activities introduced Croatian percussion music to the world. Since 1984 he leads the Croatian Radio Symphony orchestra percussion section and since 1990 Lešnik has organized international percussion events.As a founder of the percussion department at the Music Academy in Zagreb, he is regular guest at renowned universities and his percussion articles have been published in a wide variety of magazines.
