PIF is an international puppet festival of largely professional puppet theatre groups. It is also a festival for any puppeteer or theatrician who uses puppetry as a means of artistic expression. Until now more than 500 theatres from all continents have participated.

The festival is for both adults and children.
The Festival is set to take place from 4th to 9th September

This year PIF gathers top puppeteers such as NevilleTranter and Oleg Zjugzda, shows cut precious stones in plays from Sofia, Krasnoyarsk, Castellona de la Plana, Maribor and Canada, presents great and important things about Veli Joža or it talks about Romeo and Juliet’s love in plays staged by Rijeka and Ljubljana theatres. It will fascinate with tales from Brazil, variety shows from Varna, objects that come alive and with impossible Mr Puch from London.

The festival  will represent the first Croatian graduate puppet theatre director, with even two plays of hers (in the interpretation of Osijek and Split theatres), and will also show the selection of final exams of students from the Academy of Arts at Osijek University.

For the opening the organizers invited black theatre from Prague in order to announce next year’s topics, dedicated to the black theatre and the theatre of shadows.
