58th Dubrovnik Summer Festival

More than 60 actors who are at the moment staying in Dubrovnik and who are all members of the Festival Drama Ensemble will participate in the Opening Ceremony.
In the Ceremony are also included the performances of the choir Libertas, the folk ensemble Linđo, the Dubrovnik Musketeers, the members of the Dubrovnik ballet department of the art school Luka Sorkočević and the Dubrovnik Symphony Orchestra conducted by Zlatan Srzić. “The reaction to the 58th Opening Ceremony will be seen tonight after the dress rehearsal, we were requested as always to combine the old and the new, the same but different. “- said Ivica Kunčević with enthusiasm.

In the unique ambiance of the indoor and open air stages of the renaissance-baroque City of Dubrovnik for the duration of the Festival there will be over 80 drama, ballet, opera, musical shows, literary promotions, exhibition, poetry readings, off theatre shows, etc.

The Dubrovnik Summer Festival was founded in 1950 and since 1956 it has been a member of the European Festivals Association (EFA). Dubrovnik, listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site, is rich in cultural and historical monuments. The city is also the venue for numerous scientific, scholarly and literary conferences (PEN in 1933 and 1993), as well as international tourism congresses (ASTA, FUAAV, DRV, SNAV, etc.).
