World Press Photo 2006

World Press Photo is run as an independent, non-profit organization with its office in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, where World Press Photo was founded in 1955.

First and foremost, World Press Photo is known for organizing the world's largest and most prestigious annual press photography contest. After the contest, the prize winning photographs are assembled into a traveling exhibition that is visited by over a million people in 40 countries. The Exhibition will be on view between 11th and 20th May in Split (Akvarij); 12th May and 1st June in Zagreb (NSK University Library); 6th and 11th June in Vukovar (Municipal Museum Vukovar).
