Tina Gverovic and Ines Matijevic at Avesta Art 2006

In March this year, the Museum for Contemporary Art Zagreb and a team of custodians of Avesta Art 2006, Lars-Ĺke Everbrand and Kenneth Linder began cooperating with a view to presenting the young Croatian artists at the exhibition.

This year the selection concept was based on artists who have a visual correlation with the forms of redesigned space of industrial architecture.

Tina Gverovic will exhibit two monochrome oil paintings from the collection called ‘Scenographes’ in which she simply explores the interactivity of space through minimalistic expression of stages from the Croatian theatre repertoire.

Ines Matijevic will present the space installation “Musical boxes” whose framework reminisces of musical boxes from the beginning of the 20th Century. Matijevic deals with the issue the exploitation of children in marketing campaigns and advertising-propaganda materials.

The organizer is expecting approximately 20 000 visitors during the exhibition and the whole event is just a frame for numbered cultural events, workshops, lectures, etc.

The exhibition remains open until 10th September.

The whole project was supported by the Ministry of Culture of Republic Croatia and the Municipality of the City Zagreb
