RAF 2006 - A review of amateur films

The Festival offers amateurs from Croatia and abroad an opportunity to screen their films; all films that make the competition are screened (without selection). Films may be from 2 seconds to 20 minutes in length. The programme has been divided in several genre blocks: feature films, documentary films, experimental films, animated and musical films.

This year's RAF brings some news in the official programme. New categories have been introduced: ‘RAF kids’ and ‘RAF teens’ comprising works by elementary and high school pupils. The intention of the organizer is to profile the Festival as a place of creative expression of the young people. The second category includes films made in different film workshops that haven’t been presented to a wider public. Also, a new selection has been made for the category ‘medium format’ for films longer then 20 minutes.

A competition was also announced for private amateur erotic films and pornographic films.

The best films of the festival will be presented during the year in more then forty showings and film festivals in Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia and Montenegro, Slovenia, Austria and Poland.

Films will be on view in the Centre for Culture Trešnjevka, and the covering programme will be in the book club Booksa and in the clubs Gjuro II. and Pauk.
