Exhibition Contemporary Croatian Graphic Art in Japan


The travelling exhibition presents 32 artists.

The exhibition was opened by the Croatian ambassador in Japan Mr. Drago Štambuk and the mayor of Hekinan Mr. Taku Hagashima.

In addition to the opening ceremony and presented materials on the exhibition in Japanese, the public was also introduced to promo materials (brochures, posters, depliyans) on tourist destinations and natural beauties of Croatia in Japanese.

Mr. Nagashima pointed out on that occasion that the friendship between the city of Hekinan and Croatia started when Hekinan supported and sponsored Croatia’s presentation on EXPO 2005 in Japan because Croatia had the largest number of awarded haiku poets ‘per capita’.

Mr. Štambuk noted the particular importance of improve cultural exchanges and establishing friendly relations between different nations, and emphasized that culture was one of the postulates for peace and tolerance among nations.
